1-lever series

Shape
Rectangular cantilevers of the GP series have bit different shape than cantilevers of all the other series. But for the convennience of choice, the GP probes having similar characteristics (spring constant and resonant frequency) have the same number for the series: 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18.
Probe of the NSC/CSC Series. The tip is offset from the cantilever end at about 10 µm Probe of the GP series. The tip is located at the very end of the cantilever.
A chip of the GP series has cut corners to allow imaging using tip inclined with respect to the sample surface.
Application

Rectangular shape is the best in terms of Q-factor, regularity of the resonant curve, and ease of use. The simplicity of the geometry allows making some approximate calculations of some important parameters of the cantilever like torsional and flexural spring constants. These probes are good for both contact and oscillatory AFM modes.
